Walden Book Discussion

Walden Book Discussion

Join the Joe Mesics’ Literary Canon to discuss this year’s Sonoma County Reads title: Walden.  Thanks to Measure Y, free copies of Walden are available to pick up at the Library. Snacks and coffee will be served!  The Canon meets on the second Wednesdays of the month to discuss great books, stay tuned for the 2020 title list.

About Walden: Published in 1854, Walden is viewed not only as a philosophical treatise on labor, leisure, self-reliance, and individualism, but also as an influential piece of nature writing.  Few voices in American literature have been as bold and influential as that of Henry David Thoreau; Walden is a classic that continues to inspire and inform anyone with an open mind, a love of nature, and a longing for simplicity and contemplation.
